Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist to join our friendly and supportive team. We are a reflective team who continually strive to achieve positive change for the children and families we work with, including designating time to intervention. We actively promote neurodiversity affirming therapy approaches and practices. We are a Countywide Speech and Language Therapy Team working in a range of community, mainstream and special school settings.
We welcome applications from all qualified Band 5s. We also welcome applications from SLT students in their final year, and in these situations, will recruit pending receipt of a confirmation that a recognised degree has been passed.
The Children’s Speech and Language Therapy Team provides assessment, treatment and advice to children and young adults aged 0-19 with a wide range of needs. We work in partnership with families, other health professionals and colleagues in education to maintain a holistic approach to the management of the child.
We have a designated wellbeing team within Children’s SLT who help us to keep the wellbeing of all our team high on the agenda. The Wellbeing Team regularly organise talks and events which are well received by all our department.
You will be surrounded by experienced therapists who can offer weekly mentoring and on the job coaching, along with access to formal CPD opportunities so you can build your knowledge in a specific area of interest as your career progresses.
Colleagues in our team were previously shortlisted for two categories at our NHFT Quality Awards.
A car driver is essential. We will require sight of your full driving licence at interview.
NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. Because we put the person at the centre of all we do, we focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools. We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
For further information on the advertised role, please refer to the job description located under the Supporting Documents heading. The full person specification can be accessed under the ‘About You’ Section of the document
