Description:

The CIFT Systems Project Manager is a subject matter expert, prompt engineer and project manager. Their goal is to delight customers and drive our organization forward with innovative solutions to solve the Commercial claims problems of today and tomorrow. They are challenged with the most complex issues our organization and industry are facing and test emerging technologies and innovative practices that ignite the fire of change within our claims process.
Within CIFT, their work can involve our Product Organization in which they evaluate fitness for use and actively participate in Agile Release Train (ART) events and solution development. Business Owners (BOs) are key workstream stakeholders who have the primary business and technical responsibility for return on investment (ROI), governance, and compliance. Business Owners are responsible for understanding and refining the Strategic Themes that influence workstreams. They have knowledge of the current Enterprise, Portfolio, and Value Stream context, and they’re involved in driving or reviewing the solution Vision and Roadmap. The continuous involvement of BOs during the PI and PI Planning serves as a critical Guardrail for the workstream.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as prompt engineers to the commercial claims workflow – Serve the organization as engineers to calibrate, prompt decision making on business settings and facilitate transparency to how modeling, technology and processes influence the way claims are handled and guide responsible innovation. Refine the output of technology and how it should be integrated in workflows
  • Communicate business context and vision – Act as change agents to communicate the business’s current state, the vision, and their perspective on how effectively existing solutions address current customer needs. Business context may include the state of the business, market rhythms, milestones, and significant external dependencies, such as those of suppliers.
  • Maintain alignment – Actively maintain alignment between the business and product as priorities and scope inevitably change. Engage in activities to align the backlog with the portfolio’s strategic themes. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other business owners, departmental management, training, compliance and external vendors to support product deployments and process change.
  • Eliminate demotivating policies and procedures - Eliminate systemic issues, policies, and processes that are not aligned with the vision, create waste and delays in the process or negatively impact product release management. Business Owners also focus on scope, deployment options and market considerations when introducing new products into existing processes.
  • Engage with teams to be pathological vs bureaucratic - Model the right behaviors to help transform the culture from pathological (negative, power-oriented) and bureaucratic (negative, rule-oriented) to a positive, performance-oriented culture, which is required for the Lean-Agile mindset and vision to flourish. Participate in the management review and problem-solving – Business Owners are critical stakeholders in this problem-solving meeting. They review and adjust the scope, resolve problems, and compromise as necessary. This is essential post any pilot and rollout phases to aggregate feedback to the Product team and give context to priority.
