Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
Cisco Wireless LAN Project Engineer
Fast paced Managed Service Provider with more than 15 years’ experience of providing cutting edge technology and business solutions to the public and private sectors. With a core focus on Data Centre, Contact Centre, Unified Comms, Borderless Infrastructure, Connectivity Services and Bespoke Development projects they are leading from the front and are looking for a mid-tier Wireless LAN Project Engineer to join the team.
Responsible for post-sales technical implementation (on-site, remote or in the office Lab for Pre-Staging) as a lead or supporting engineer on a variety of projects. This role has a focus on Wireless LAN mainly focused around Maraki, however, Engineers should be able to converse at a more basic level in all areas of the Cisco portfolio especially Switching.
Responsibilities:
- Lead smaller projects, taking full responsibility for low level technical design, documentation, diagrams and implementation.
- Support an allocated lead engineer on larger projects, assisting with technical design, documentation, diagrams and implementation.
- Work with the allocated project management resource to deliver projects to meet customer expectations on time and in budget.
- Deliver wireless surveys either On-site or as a remote off-site plan using the tools provided.
- Complete installation of Cisco WLAN networks on customer sites, (note: this does not include any AP mounting, cabling etc)
- Deliver Customer technical audits and consultancy in your technical architecture area(s)
- Support Pre-Sales colleagues by validating scope documents and adding low level design elements as required.
- Provide support to the inhouse Cisco TAC as required.
- Provide ‘on the job’ technical training to internal staff and customers as required.
It is essential that you have a full driving licence for external customer visits and the bulk of the client base is in London and the South East. It would be a distinct advantage if you have previously worked with a Solutions provider dealing with multiple external clients rather than one inhouse internal network, ideally in a projects capacity but 2nd Line support Engineers will also be considered. It is envisioned that you have your CCNA and be motivated to achieve your CCNP-Wireless with full support from the company. All Wireless vendor experience considered – Ruckus, Aruba, Extreme, Juniper, Zyxel etc but it would be an advantage if you have experience with Meraki/Cisco Aironet.
This company invests heavily in their technical team, with 24/7 access to a fully loaded Technical Lab to help with your studies. They have an excellent staff retention rate and there is a reason for this, they truly look after their staff and work on exciting projects at the forefront of technology.
