WHAT WE DO:

The Civil Certification Engineer - System Safety acts as the primary technical liaison between the certification department and the various engineering teams regarding system safety. The job requires experience in designing aircraft systems and a strong understanding of aircraft certification principles. It is expected that Civil Certification Engineer is proficient in both the technical subject matter and the certification process.
This position will be required to work on-site 5 days a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to Sr. Civil Certification Engineers and assist with certification initiatives as assigned at project level
  • Maintain awareness of new regulatory requirements and guidance materials as they are released
  • Coordinate certification requirements updates to the engineering team and provide certification inputs as part of the design process
  • Communicate any design changes or proposed design changes with potential certification impacts back to the certification team
  • Contribute to the development and coordination of subject-level certification plans by collaborating with certification and engineering teams
  • Support technical meetings between FAA and Supernal personnel as they relate to system safety certification
  • Participate in applicable industry working groups as assigned
  • Provide assistance to various departments as directed
  • Provide technical inputs and checks of certain certification documents
  • Partner with PMO organization to implement build plan
  • Up to 10% of domestic and international travel
  • Other duties as assigned
