Our established and growing Civil team within our Buildings business is looking to appoint an experienced Civil Drafter in a permanent full time role. Reporting to the Design Lead, you will be drafting and designing high quality civil engineering designs, drawings, 2D & 3D models, calculations, specifications and documentation. Stantec have delivered multiple major projects are have a strong pipeline of work in the Health and Advisory, Defence, Buildings and Land Development.

• Herston Quarter Re-development Technical Advisors
• Defence Estate Works Program
• Queensland Health Capital Expansion Projects (various new hospitals and expansions)
• Build to Rent (BTR) housing
• Housing Investment Fund advisors
• Parkland Revitalisation and Redevelopments
• Masterplanned Community subdivisions
• Sunshine Coast Hospital Technical Advisors
• Community and Recreational Assets flood recovery programs

This role includes project design and delivery across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning through to detailed design and construction documentation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop themselves into a rewarding career path in a successful consultancy working on the states most iconic projects.

Ideally AutoCAD or Certificate in Civil Engineering

DAY TO DAY TASKS WOULD INVOLVE:

• Technical design and documentation utilizing AutoCAD, 12D or Civil 3D as primary packages.
• Design collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM modelers.
• Be responsible for project designs dependent on experience and complexity
• Participate in meetings with clients and other consultants
• Adhere to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures
• Opportunities for site and field work

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

• Ideally have good technical drafting background in aspects of civil design including bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design within reference to Australian Standards and local Southeast QLD authority standards.
• Experience in design and documentation platforms using AutoCAD or similar
• Software packages such as MUSIC, DRAINS, Civil 3D, 12D and pipe design desirable but not essential
• A good understanding of civil design and drafting processes with a consulting engineering practice
