IDEALLY THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE PREPARATION OF:
- Supporting Local Authorities delivering their duties under the Flood and Water Management Act.
- Preparing flood risk assessments, surface water management plans, flood risk management plans and Flood Risk chapters to support Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) using available datasets, hydrological and hydraulic theories, calculations and computational models.
- Assessing options and preparing designs for flood risk mitigation in accordance with industry guidance.
- Preparing surface water management plans and Sustainable Drainage designs from conceptual stage through to detailed design using industry standard software.
- Hands-on experience of InfoWorks/ICM, Flood Modeller and industry standard drainage design software.
- Completing feasibility and pre-planning assessments.
- Undertaking hydrological assessments using FEH, WINFAP, ReFH2 etc.
- Visiting and inspecting project sites, attending client and stakeholder meetings, and presenting where necessary.
- Using GIS software (QGIS, MapInfo, ArcGIS etc.) and analysing datasets (Excel etc.).
- Writing technical reports.
- Working with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with tenders and preparing fee proposals.
- Establishing and maintaining good working relationships with clients and colleagues.
