Civil Engineer III - Water Services Department

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Four years of experience in the practice of civil engineering or architecture.
• One year of experience supervising professional and technical staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related engineering degree.
• Must be registered in the State of Arizona as a Professional Engineer with proficiency in civil engineering within 12 months of hire.
• Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

• These positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

• Two years of project management experience in complex capital improvement projects.
• Two years of managing consultants and contractor staff for CIP projects.
• Civil Engineering design experience related to construction on municipal facilities.
• Current Arizona Professional Engineer registration preferred.
• Three years of experience in water/wastewater engineering design, plan review, inspection, construction, or project management.

• Managing studies, assessments, inspections, planning, design and construction for rehabilitation, replacement, and new Water Remotes Facilities,
• Development of project scope and cost estimates,
• Procurement and administration of construction contracts,
• Technical review of reports, design plans and specifications,
• Coordination of design, construction and inspection activities with customers, Water Remotes/Distribution staff, Water Production staff, external stakeholders, and other City Departments
