Knight Piésold Southern Africa is an International Engineering and Environmental Consulting company providing services mainly to the mining, water supply, and civil engineering industries. We are looking for a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic Phalaborwa team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• The ideal candidate must have a BSc/BEng (Civil) degree.
• Specialisation in the geotechnical aspect of civil engineering in a mining environment with at least three years of experience.
• Extensive experience in the mining and geotechnical engineering field is essential.
• Experience in the design and management of tailings storage facilities.
• Experience in mining infrastructure projects.
• Excellent project management skills will be seen as an advantage as well as experience in site investigations.
• Sound client relations are key.
• The candidate must be willing to work independently and take ownership of projects.
• PR Eng will be advantageous.

• Provide engineering input from inception to design and ultimately to construction and project closure.
• To assist in producing designs that meet the client’s requirements.
• Working closely with the draughtsperson.
• Drafts and final preparation of tender construction drawings, bills of quantities, and forms of contracts.
• Assist with proposal development and project abstracts.
• Site monitoring.
• Provide technical guidance to junior staff.
