Join our dynamic team at TRACTEBEL, located in Bad Vilbel (Rhein Main area), Germany, or one of our global project offices. We specialize in hydropower and water resource projects, offering comprehensive consultancy services worldwide. We are currently seeking Junior, Senior, and Expert Contract Specialists to strengthen our team.
YOUR PROFILE
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and characteristics:
Educational Background: Successfully completed studies, to Bachelor or Master level, in Civil Engineering or a similar discipline, or in Quantity Surveying with a focus on construction management and/or contract management.
EXPERIENCE:
- Junior Level: 10-15 years of related professional experience, ideally including several years abroad, with at least 2 years involving construction contract procurement and/or management.
- Senior Level: 15-20 years of related professional experience, with significant international exposure and a minimum of 2 years in construction contract procurement/management.
- Expert Level: 25 years of related professional experience, with substantial international experience and at least 5 years continuously providing specialist construction contract procurement/management services.
- FIDIC Knowledge: General or in-depth experience managing FIDIC-based construction contracts.
- Language Skills: Proficient in English at a legal practice level, with additional foreign languages being an advantage (German preferred for Expert level).
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with common construction scheduling software and initial experience in BIM is desirable.
- Other Qualities: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to travel worldwide for short and medium project inputs.

Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Compilation: Assist in or take full responsibility for preparing and compiling prequalification and tender documentation for the construction of hydropower, dam, and major water resource development projects. This includes Employer-designed, design-build, and EPC type contracts based on FIDIC standard conditions of contract (Red Book, Yellow Book, Silver Book, Pink Book, Emerald Book, and occasionally Gold Book and Green Book).
- Support During Tendering: Provide support to the Employer during tendering, tender evaluation, and contract negotiations.
- Contract Management: Manage construction contract matters on behalf of the Contract Administrator/Owner’s Engineer, including preparation of variations, claim management, and representation during adjudication and arbitration.
- Construction Scheduling: Support construction scheduling, including analysis and development for evaluating delay and disruption claims and determining extensions of time.
- Technical Offers and Project Management: Participate in preparing technical offers for engineering services and provide support for related contract negotiations. Assist in project management for hydropower and water resource planning and implementation, including controlling interdisciplinary engineering teams.
- Training and Development: Engage in training presentations, workshops, and continuous personal and professional development, including specialist training in construction law
