JOB SUMMARY

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the level four Civil Engineer position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
The ideal candidate will show technical ability and a wealth of experience in designing and constructing large-scale industrial facilities, overseeing every phase from site selection and preparation to construction, operations, and maintenance. Collaborating closely with the government Program Manager, as well as the Chief and Lead Engineer, this individual will play a pivotal role in the technical advancement, design, procurement, and establishment of a ground-based sensing capability. Serving as the primary liaison between the government program team and the contractor, this role assumes leadership in Civil Engineering, spearheading the planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance of a specialized facility. In this role, you will be entrusted with comprehensive oversight of project planning, development, and review of budgets and cost elements. Additionally, you will be tasked with composing or reviewing technical reports and effectively conveying intricate findings to management and executive leadership.
Job Requirements:

SKILLS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • 15+ years relevant experience within the Department of Defense (DoD)
  • Leads the shaping requirements, conceptualizing designs, and conducting thorough analyses of technical solutions for extensive optical or industrial facilities which encompasses intricate systems, machinery, control rooms, operator interfaces, and associated infrastructure, all within a classified environment
  • Provides leadership and support in managing technical programs, projects, or tasks of significant complexity
  • Applies advanced principles, theories, and concepts to navigate the intricacies of complex systems effectively
  • Demonstrates a consistent track record of delivering exceptional standards within specified timeframes and budgetary constraints, showcasing adept problem-solving skills in dynamic, high-stakes environments
  • Offers invaluable insights, highlighting potential risks to performance, schedule, and budget arising from proposed contractor plans or their execution
  • Upholds rigorous quality standards for program, project, or task deliverables, ensuring alignment with established metrics and overarching warfighting objective
  • Strategically plans and executes research, design development, and other critical assignments, adhering meticulously to design, engineering, and customer specifications
  • Assumes responsibility for technical and engineering aspects of major initiatives, playing a pivotal role in their successful execution
  • Facilitates coordination among diverse stakeholders and agencies to ensure alignment with objectives and delivery milestones
  • Monitors and recommends design considerations, evaluating associated cost, schedule, and technical ramifications alongside project requirements
  • Initiates, oversees, and refines project requirements from inception to fruition.
  • Provides invaluable strategic counsel, technical expertise, and guidance to program and project personnel
  • Conducts thorough analyses and evaluations, offering actionable recommendations for enhancing, perfecting, or supporting mission-critical endeavors or client-specific challenges
  • Leads comprehensive studies and data analyses to inform strategic decision-making and propose practical solutions
  • Communicates with utmost clarity, precision, and technical acumen, whether through oral presentations or written documentation, ensuring seamless comprehension and alignment across all stakeholders

EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineer (mandatory)
  • PLUS: Master of Science/Master of Engineering (mandatory)
  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
