Description:

Hire Resolve is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Civil Engineer to join our client’s team in Bloemfontein in the capacity of a Local Development Consultant (LDC) specializing in Water & Sanitation projects. The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and a demonstrated commitment to improving water and sanitation infrastructure in the community.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Professional registration as a Civil Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in water and sanitation engineering projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering software.
  • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work efficiently with limited supervision.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of local regulations, codes, and standards related to water and sanitation infrastructure.
  • Experience working in Bloemfontein or other South African municipalities is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and assessments to gather data and information for water and sanitation projects.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs and plans for water supply, wastewater treatment, and sanitation infrastructure.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates for project implementation.
  • Coordinate and oversee construction activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and specifications.
  • Work closely with local authorities, communities, and other stakeholders to promote community participation and ensure project sustainability.
  • Monitor project progress, evaluate performance, and provide regular updates to project stakeholders.
  • Implement quality assurance and quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship and project delivery.
