Due to our ongoing growth, we are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer to join the Saunders International team. The role will require travel to sites across Australia and internationally, depending on project location.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership of safe behaviours and work practices on each project the CE is stationed on.
- Maintain a comprehensive site diary for each project.
- Work with the Project Manager in managing the day-to-day site management and administration.
- To coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment and subcontracting services required on the project.
- Provide technical support to site team and advice to the client.
- Accountability for maintaining quality records on the project.
- Determining construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
- Organizing and directing site labour and the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establishing detailed programs for the coordination of site activities
- Analyse long range plans, survey reports, maps, and other data to plan and design projects.
- Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors during the planning and risk-analysis stages of a project.
- Compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies, verifying that projects comply with various regulations.
- Oversee and analyse the results of soil testing to determine the adequacy and strength of foundations.
- Analyse the results of tests on building materials, such as concrete, wood, asphalt, or steel, for use in particular projects.
- Prepare cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labour to determine a project’s economic feasibility.
- Use design software to plan and design transportation systems, hydraulic systems, and structures in line with industry and government standards.
- Perform or oversee surveying operations to establish building locations, site layouts, reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.
- Manage the repair, maintenance, and replacement of public and private infrastructure Financial.
