Description:

Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:

Ø Support design team to ensure all site install is accordance with design.
Ø Support construction team to problem solve on site to avoid schedule delays
Ø Manage install of structural IWP’s with package lead and project manager
Ø Maintenance of Mercury engineering design standards including assistance in the formulation of engineering strategies, standards, and procedures.
Ø Oversee 3rd Party Structural Design Team (GDCL / OLPE)
Ø Fully understand the scope of the Project works as per the Design/IFC specifications and drawings
Ø Ensure drafting/BIM deliverables are produced in accordance with relevant specification and quality standards as specified by the Client and/or their representatives.
Ø Complete engineering review of BIM content and issue comments back to BIM team for remedial work
Ø Assessment of Sub-contract and Supplier Tender returns with the assigned commercial QS for Technical compliance with design intent specifications
Ø Review Project schedule and ensure engineering activities do not impact on same (e.g., Procurement, structural design, tech subs, etc).
Ø Prepare RFI’s with construction team to ensure all technical queries are answered by the client and the A/E
Ø Prepare structural designs and reports for structural elements (steel / Unistrut) as required by the project
Ø Review calculations and construction documents created by the structural team to ensure correct engineering analysis has been performed and standards and quality expectations are met.
Ø Conduct assessments and evaluations of existing structures.
Ø Prepare and submit structural technical submittals to the A/E
Ø Ensure all structural technical submittals and RFI’s are closed out on Eida.
Ø Management of design information/drawings with fabshops and ensuring adequate information flow to ensure fabrication progress is in line with the project schedule.
Ø Evaluate and promote the use of new lean engineering practices and processes to enhance delivery time of the project.
Ø Preparation and agreeing project completion criteria and close out documents.
Ø Track and report fabrication/Install progress to project planner
Ø Attend meeting attendance i.e., Client meeting, Internal meeting, sub-contractor meetings and Construction meetings/whiteboards
Ø Inform QS of any known or potential delay because of engineering activity

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA FOR THE ROLE:

  • Civil or Structural engineering qualification or relevant work experience
  • Proficient with Navisworks and Structural design software
  • Good Computer skills in word, excel etc.
  • Excellent communication
