CIVIL/STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

I am seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer to join a well-known and well-loved manufacturing plant in Limerick to join their team-based organisation. I am seeking a Civil/Structural Engineer with experience working in a manufacturing plant or the construction industry. If you are looking for a role where you have real autonomy and enjoy taking on varied, large-scale, exciting projects from design to commissioning, then this is the role for you. I have assisted this company for over 16 years, and I have placed numerous Engineers with this company, and they have all been incredibly happy. Every time an Engineer goes for an interview, they want the role.

Responsibilities:

  • Convenes all project stakeholders to agree on civil scope and schedule
  • Prepares concept designs and budget estimates
  • Tasks drafts team to survey the brownfield or greenfield sites and to design the required modifications or constructions, and approve the resultant drawings.
  • Ensures that engineering design calculations are completed, by external consultants, where necessary.
  • Enlists the assistance of E/I, Control, or Mechanical engineering support where required
  • Specifies, and together with the purchasing department, procures all required materials for the project
  • Prepares detailed scopes of work, preliminary health and safety plans and tender packages to enable our purchasing team to tender the works to our clients approved civil structural engineering contractors.
  • Completes detailed design and implementation risk assessments with all stakeholders
  • Liaises with the contract facilitators and contractors during construction to ensure complete and accurate implementation of the scopes and value for money
  • Reports regularly on project status, schedule and budget
  • Manages project commissioning, ensures all equipment is correctly registered on the maintenance management systems and that all project documentation is kept and filed appropriately.
