Responsibilities:
The Claims Clerk provides clerical support such as customer service, administrative assistance, mail processing and courier liaison, filing, organization and record management.
- Respond to and direct inquiry calls from clients, Brokers, Insurance Companies and internal staff
- Provide instructions on how to proceed with claims
- Directing calls to appropriate party for handling
- Liaise with multiple departments within the Company
- Processing new claims in various systems, entering data in systems and recording in claims Logs
- Receive claims transaction data and record in relevant system
- Pay small claims such as windshield repair and replacement; deal directly with vendors and provide pricing
- Process weekly and monthly reports as required
- Ensure claims portal is updated
- Prepare weekly deposits
- Responsible for printing claims cheques, scanning and preparing for mailing
- Sort and process all incoming and outgoing mail for the Department
- Coordinate the maintenance of office equipment with Office Services department
