Description:

The CIFT (Claims Innovation and Future Transformation) team is tasked with driving innovation in claims handling at GEICO, involving a wide range of solutions, including new systems, models, processes, and artificial intelligence.
We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to extract and transform complex data in support of claims research and development projects. As the organization expands the range and number of analytical and modeling projects it is pursuing to drive claims innovation, there is an increasing need to extract and transform claims data to support those efforts. The person who fills this role will be a key contributor to those projects and may also support recurring data and reporting needs related to those projects. The ideal candidate will have experience extracting claims data as well as experience in producing automated reporting. An understanding of claims procedures and systems is also preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience extracting and manipulating claims data
  • Knowledge and experience extracting and manipulating large datasets utilizing SAS/SQL/Python (A skills assessment will be used during the hiring process)
  • Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects to completion
  • Bachelor’s degree or actively pursuing w/computer science or math course work

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of claims systems and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience working on highly collaborative teams

Annual Salary
$31.77 - $207,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
