How does this role contribute to our collective success?
The Claims Operations Technician is crucial for the daily functioning of our Claims Department, providing operational support to various stakeholders and overseeing offshored processes. They ensure data accuracy, offer assistance with end-user applications, and actively participate in change activities like London Market reform and SME initiatives. Their role is integral to maintaining efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement within our organization, contributing significantly to our collective success.

What will you do in this role?

  • Facilitate and support the management of offshored processes (e.g. FNOL, payment requisitions, financial updates, third party fee payments, sanction checks, claim history reporting, bordereaux processing etc.).
  • Support the oversight of third-party business partners and the monitoring of outsource contracts (e.g. DXC Delegated Lead Claims, Express Bordereaux and Static Claims) to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Upkeep of spreadsheets and logs
  • Upkeep of the claims handling guidelines and procedural documents
  • Assistance and participation in specific projects e.g., Faster Claims Payments
  • Provide operational support and guidance to Claim Handlers and work to resolve queries related to claims applications, processes, financial discrepancies etc.
  • Provide assistance with Claims Adjusters’ requests.
  • Assign Event Coding and process exceptional Syndicate Claims Messages (SCM’s) and Underwriting Syndicate Messages (USM’s) that are referred onshore by the Offshore Team.
  • Ensure data quality and record accurate information in accord with strict Company deadlines and consistent with the AXIS Data Policy.
  • Provide system and application support to include User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Market Acceptance Testing (MAT), as required.
  • Activities to be performed in compliance with Company policy, procedures and regulatory requirements ( PRA,FCA and Lloyd’s Minimum Standards)
  • Promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived risks or failures to existing activity or control measures.
  • Develop detailed understanding and usage of internal and market systems (e.g. DOCOsoft, IRIS, RiskWrite, CRS, ECF2 and IMR).
  • Stakeholder engagement to include Claims Adjusters, Business Technology Solutions, Internal and External Audit, Finance, Operations, Change and system service providers (e.g. DOCOsoft).
  • Support the ongoing development of the Claims function to drive continuous process improvement and operational efficiency ensuring processes meet the business requirements.

You may also be required to take on additional duties, responsibilities and activities appropriate to the nature of this role.
About You:

What you need to have:

  • Educated to A level
  • Numerate, analytical and solution focused mind, working to deadlines
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel, MS Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage own time alongside a diverse portfolio of project.

What we prefer you to have:

  • Previous experience working within a Lloyd’s, London Market Insurer and/or Claims
  • Claims Operations function is an advantage, but not essential.
  • Using initiative, curious and proactive
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Ability to present information in a concise fashion relevant to the audience.

Role Factors:
