ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Claims Representative II (Towing & Storage Consultant) you will be considered the main resource for the CSC on towing and storage matters. This consulting role will directly impact our ability to control claims costs, while helping our customers get back on track as quickly as possible.

WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE:

• Maintain effective communication channels with claims teams through offering real time support on towing and storage matters to adjusters, supporting training teams on curriculum development, and Unit Claims Managers on the evaluation of trends.
• Within established authority limits, negotiate with tow companies and body shops to settle the towing and storage claims within Intact policies and municipal codes.
• Investigate and settle routine towing & storage claims. Provide quality service and ensure prompt and equitable settlement of claims in line with Corporate policies and standards including Municipal legislation & by-laws.
• Document the claim file by collecting and securing all the appropriate documents, information and statements from the insured, adjuster, body shop, towing company, police, municipal office and other pertinent experts to determine a fair and reasonable fee for services performed.
• Maintain productive business relationships with towing service providers, establishing rapport within the towing and storage industry and building a strong reputation for Intact.
• Handle legal payment into court process, follow up and documentation of all material related to litigation. Liaison with legal counsel, communicate with body shop and towing company, attend settlement conferences where necessary and support in the possible resolution of file.
• Maintain current knowledge of all Municipal codes and industry trends and complete reporting on said information as necessary.
