Cleaning Services Assistant

The job holder will work as part of the existing cleaning services team and provide a professional customer focused quality service within available resources. To clean specific public areas of the hospital using specialist cleaning equipment and ensuring that the cleaning is undertaken to the required standard of hygiene in accordance with national standards of cleanliness and internal standard operating procedures. This includes entrances, corridors, stairs, Lifts, toilet facilities, ward areas, Theatres, and departments within the hospital. Lifting and manipulation of cleaning equipment.
To be responsible for the monitoring, recording and reporting of linen stock levels against expected delivered, including the removal of any soiled or damaged linen from stock. Responsible for placing linen in the correct store area and that appropriate paperwork is completed and any under or over deliveries are reported to supervision. To be responsible for the monitoring, recording/receipting of cleaning materials and ensuring any shortfalls in delivery are reported to supervision. Requirement to use specialist equipment and new innovative technologies to support the reduction in hospital acquired infection and maintain high levels of hospital cleanliness To dispose of waste in accordance with the waste disposal policy To demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies, Standing Operating Procedures, systems and regulations (eg COSHH) gained through induction and on the job training.
