THE POSITION

Are you an experienced administrative professional with excellent organizational skills looking for a new career opportunity? The Department of Environmental Protection is hiring a Clerical Assistant 2 for their Southwest Regional Office team. In this position, you will have the chance to utilize Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and email, handle file updates for a scanning project, and act as the primary point of contact. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

Your main role will be as the receptionist at the Pittsburgh Office. You will be responsible for distributing water test kits to the public and collecting payment for each kit, as well as handling other payments at the receptionist desk. Additionally, you will record all check and money order transactions and provide customers with receipts. You will also greet and assist visitors, offering regional information and directing them to the appropriate personnel or agency. It will be your responsibility to ensure that visitors sign in and out on the visitor’s log sheet and issue them with badges. Furthermore, you will be in charge of promptly directing emergency response calls to the appropriate staff members.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
  • This position requires the ability to take and transcribe dictation.

Other Requirements:
