Join the Close Brothers Invoice Finance (CBIF) team where you will oversee a portfolio of large corporate / ABL clients, ensuring excellent client outcomes are delivered whilst protecting the bank from credit loss.
Our Client Managers manage their portfolios from cradle to grave, effectively managing all stages of the customer journey. Your portfolio under management will include facilities of £25M and upwards across various asset classes including accounts receivable, cash flow loans, property, P&M and Inventory.
Based either in Manchester, Brighton or London, you will split your time across one of our offices and out on the road visiting clients. You’ll also have the option to work once a week from home.
To succeed in this role, you’ll have a proven track record in managing risk and delivering excellent customer outcomes across a portfolio of Corporate ABL clients. You’ll have the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships both inside and outside the organisation and will posses exception communication and risk skills.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
- Have underwriting experience
- Have experience with stock and Inventory facilities
- Have experience of restructuring

Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients, managing your portfolio to include protection against credit loss and ownership of client relationships; maximising the client life, profitability and retention
- Minimise the risk of loss through robust credit risk management, using risk management tools and implementation of risk management procedures
- Analyse financial statements, forecasts and models to ensure prompt identification of liquidity issues, potential covenant breaches along with escalation to Group Credit Committee where appropriate
- Maximise portfolio income generation in line with targets, pro-actively seeking opportunities to cross sell and refer other Close Brothers products and services
- Co-ordinate with Sales, Underwriting and Legal teams to ensure timely onboarding of new business prospects within agreed terms
- Complete annual reviews and client visits
- Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
