We have a FULL TIME opportunity for a Client Partner, Respectful Workplace. The successful applicant will be based/assigned in Surrey, BC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in a field related to Human Resource Management or Business, plus five (5) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Completing Mediation Skills 1, Conflict Coaching Level 1 courses, and Associate Certificate in Workplace Conflict is desirable.
Valid BC Driver’s Licence and possession of a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

PROFESSIONAL/TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES

  • Ability to operate related equipment, including computers and appropriate programs.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities:

The Client Partner, Respectful Workplace supports managers and leaders in their expeditious investigation and resolution of respectful workplace complaints.
They are working with key stakeholders such as Disability Management, Human Resources Consulting (labour relations), Resolution Team (mediators), Physiological Health and Safety, Organization Development, Workplace Health, WorkSafe BC, and Healthcare Unions to navigate the dynamics that apply to a respectful workplace complaint.
Increase accountability and understanding of the leader’s role in supporting and promoting a Respectful Workplace; instruct and encourage proactive use of the Respectful Workplace Policy and enhance conflict resolution and problem-solving skills within the FH leaders, physicians, staff, and volunteers; negotiate and facilitate resolution to difficult to resolve respectful workplace matters with clients and the Unions, including Human Rights.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice and resources to leaders and other clients respecting respectful workplace investigations and other dispute resolution processes, drafting appropriate correspondence, strategizing employer position, preparing for and conducting meetings with employees, union representatives, and legal counsel, and preparing for cases proceeding to third party hearing.
  • Liaises with internal and external stakeholders including union representatives to develop a consultative approach to mutual problem solving, enhancing communication, proactively anticipating and resolving issues, and supporting the implementation of required change.
  • Identifies management education needs regarding respectful workplace issues; assists with developing and presenting appropriate related educational programs.
  • Maintains records such as a respectful workplace investigation tracking database, reviews and analyses data, and reports concerns and recommendations to Leaders and Human Resource staff.
  • Partners with leaders and client partners in Disability Management, Human Resources Consulting (labour relations), Resolution Team (mediators), Physiological Health and Safety, Organization Development, and Workplace Health, and physician executive to increase accountability and understanding of the leadership role in supporting and promoting a respectful workplace; encourages proactive use of the Respectful Workplace Policy and consistent messaging across these groups.
  • Remains current in human rights, employment, and other related legislation; health care collective agreements and human resource practices to ensure that Respectful Workplace services and resources are current and within legislative and/or collective agreement requirements.
  • Participates in contingency plans as required for legal/illegal work stoppages and conducts essential service planning for assigned departments.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
