Description:

East London NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a registered Physiotherapist with Learning Disabilities experience, to lead the Physiotherapy team within the Newham Health Team for Adults with Learning Disabilities. This post is a Clinical Lead Highly Specialist Physiotherapist role and it is a full time position, although we will consider applicants looking for part time hours if they have relevant experience and skills.
You will lead the Physiotherapy team, supporting a Specialist Physiotherapist and Senior Therapy assistant. You will be working with an experienced multi disciplinary team of Nurses, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational therapists, Psychologists and Psychiatrists. The Physiotherapy service within the Newham Health Team has been well established for many years, offering effective services and embracing innovative practice for individuals with severe and profound learning disabilities in different settings. You will be working in varied community settings such as individual’s home, therapy centres, educational settings, Hydrotherapy pools and other community facilities.
You will have knowledge and understanding of working with complex neurological conditions and people with long term conditions, and experience of working with people who have a learning disability. A sound understanding of the legal framework around LD is essential. You will be expected to hold an independent caseload, be autonomous in assessments, execute treatment programs independently and demonstrate excellent leadership skills. Within this role you will have supervision and support from Deputy Team Manager and the Clinical Service Manager. Support will be available for someone looking for their first leadership position.
