Description:

The University of Saint Joseph is seeking applications for a 12-month p/t faculty member (non-tenure) for our highly regarded Master in Social Work (MSW) Program as we expand our educational opportunities into Eastern CT. We are seeking a creative, collaborative, and organized faculty member to further enhance our presence in the Eastern CT region, and liaise with agencies, preceptors, site supervisors, and students to ensure mutually beneficial educational relationships for our students with social service agencies in that part of the State. The ideal candidate will have familiarity with the Eastern CT region, a passion for field education, experience working with students and in practice settings, exceptional teaching skills, and a strong commitment to advancing human rights and social justice in social work practice. Qualified applicants will demonstrate the ability to engage collaboratively with both the department and community colleagues, to develop relationships and networks with culturally diverse communities, and the capability to forge partnerships with a variety of organizations. Our MSW Program prepares social workers for community-based clinical practice, focusing on labor force shortage areas such as health and mental health, as well as children and family services. • Hold individual meetings with Eastern CT students
  • Conduct Field orientation at the beginning of the academic year
  • Teach one course per semester (dependent on hours in above tasks)
