DESCRIPTION

The Department of Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting at NYU College of Dentistry is seeking applicants for a full-time, non-tenured, position at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor (rank depending on experience & scholarship).
The dental hygiene programs at NYU Dentistry provide extraordinary clinical and academic opportunities for students interested in preventive oral healthcare and the promotion of good health. They are the only dental hygiene programs housed within a dental college in the state of New York. Dental Hygiene students at NYU Dentistry have the unique opportunity to work in integrated clinical settings alongside dental students as well as faculty members from dental hygiene, dentistry and specialty areas. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Dental Hygiene with a concentration in Dental Science at NYU Dentistry provides a pathway for those looking to gain a solid foundation for dental school and other health-related professions.
Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of general and organic chemistry, scholarly activities, including seeking external funding for research, and mentorship.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor is $95K - $145K and at the rank of Clinical Associate Professor is $105K - $165K. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.

QUALIFICATIONS

In addition to a demonstrated commitment to scholarship and teaching, candidates must have a significant record of research accomplishments including a history of extramural funding and potential for future funding.
Minimum of Master’s degree (Ph.D. ideal) in Chemistry or a closely related discipline. Previous experience in classroom and laboratory teaching at the undergraduate level.
