Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for recording specimen arrival at the laboratory and, sample identification, coding, and registration.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse role. Duties include data entry, specimen handling, processing, and non-technical laboratory duties.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner and without supervision. Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, patients and with members of staff.
- Demonstrated ability or ability to quickly learn to utilise Laboratory Information Systems and ieMR
- Demonstrate above average attendance and punctuality
- A demonstrated commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Knowledge of, or ability to acquire knowledge of, procedures policies and regulations which impact on the position, the Department of Health Code of Conduct, and a knowledge of contemporary human resource management issues such as workplace health and safety, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements

- It may be a requirement to work at Robina Campus periodically with discussion via the Hiring manager.
- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Assistance or the equivalent would be an advantage
- It is mandatory for the successful applicant to participate in Day & Overnight Shifts as well as weekend & Public Holiday rostering
Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) requirements
- It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
- Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
