Description:

We are inviting applicants for this exciting new role within Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Trust Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. The Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) is offered as a Master Level Apprenticeship. We are looking to recruit 2 further CAP Apprentices to work within our CAMH teams alongside qualified Clinical Psychologists.
On successful completion of the apprenticeship programme you will continue in the same team as a Band 6. Working in partnership with Nottingham Trent University (NTU), this apprenticeship leads to Master Level qualification over 18 months, and as an apprentice you will be employed full time by the Trust and your time will be split between 2 days a week of academic teaching/study and 3 days in clinical practice. NTU will be offering some of the academic teaching remotely, but there will a minimal number of days teaching at NTU, so you must be willing to travel to undertake this teaching.
Job offers to successful candidates will be conditional on completing the application process for the CAP Masters course at NTU. The course will commence in September 2024. This is a new psychology career pathway; hence we aim to recruit those suitable for and committed to training for this role. We are particularly keen to hear from applicants who have a commitment to working in the local region, from those with diverse backgrounds and from people who bring lived experience relevant to mental health work.
As a trainee Clinical Associate Psychologist, you will work closely with the existing clinical psychologists and the wider multidisciplinary teams. Your duties could include:
The provision of psychological assessment, formulation, individual and group interventions, for young people that have chronic disease including those with a palliative diagnosis.
Working closely with qualified Clinical Psychologists to setting up the clinical pathways.
Undertaking appropriate clinical work under the supervision of a Clinical Psychologists.
Ad-hoc assessments alongside the clinical psychologists observing young people at home/school, structured information gathering from young people/parents/schools including developmental histories using service proformas.
Active participation in multidisciplinary case discussion and formulation meetings.
Involvement in development of policies and project work.
Data gathering for audit and research purposes link.
Training and consultation.
