Description:
YOUR KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
To be a successful candidate you will:
- Possess a recognised clinical coding qualification – HIMAA, tertiary HIM qualification, or equivalent
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ clinical coding experience using ICD-10-AM, ACHI and ACS (12th edition) across a broad casemix within a hospital or health care setting
- Demonstrate a good understanding of anatomy, pathophysiology and clinical interventions
- Have knowledge of Australian Revised Diagnostic Related Groups (AR-DRG) and private health funding models
- Competently undertake the analysis and verification of clinical documentation to ensure coded data accurately represents each episode of care and/or seek clinician clarification as required
- Seek to continuously develop knowledge and improve Clinical Coding practice
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment
- Possess excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise
REQUIREMENTS
- Must provide a National Police check conducted within the previous 12 months
- According to the role, Ramsay may require a Working-With-Children check and proof of immunisation against infectious diseases.
Responsibilities:
An exciting new opportunity exists for a suitably qualified Clinical Coder to join our Clinical Coding team on a permanent part-time basis, minimum 22.8 hours/fortnight.
Reporting to the Director of Finance and working within a supportive team environment, this position will play a pivotal role in undertaking accurate, comprehensive and timely clinical coding for Strathfield Private Hospital.
We offer a flexible work environment and extensive support network of Health Information Managers, Clinical coders, Clinical Documentation Specialists and educators.
