Are you a soon to qualify Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is passionate about working with Older People?
Are you looking for a role that can offer flexible working to coincide with your home life as well as paying HCAS?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well established OPMH service which includes a Community Mental Health Team, Memory Clinic, Home Treatment Team with a co-located Social Care service. This is a varied job and gives you the opportunity to use and further develop a broad array of skills including therapy, consultancy, neuropsychology and joint-working.
We are looking to recruit a passionate, highly motivated Clinical/Counselling Psychologist dedicated to providing high quality formulation-based care for older people with complex needs and people with a dementia diagnosis and their caregivers and you could be visiting client’s home as well. You will work across the service including the Memory Clinic, accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatry. Psychology is highly valued, and you will be well supported. There will be opportunities to further develop clinical skills through CPD, as well as leadership opportunities through service development projects, supervision experience and training. We are happy to discuss your interests and aspirations and consider how we can nurture your progress.
There will also be an opportunity to progress to band 8a once you have demonstrated that you meet the competencies over an 18–24-month period.
To conduct specialist assessments for clients with complex needs – this will include offering neuropsychological assessment for Bracknell Memory Clinic.
To offer formulation driven, evidence-based therapeutic interventions to support the psychological well-being of those referred to the service.
To support the delivery of a stepped care approach for clients who are expressing unmet needs and distress through their behaviour and to work with their caregivers.
To offer consultancy, teaching and joint working to your colleagues and support them to deliver a psychologically informed service.
To contribute to audit and evaluation of the service’s work and to support quality improvement projects.
To contribute to a review of how we can improve our service delivery to better support our service users.
Location: The post holder will be able to mix working from both the team base at Church Hill House and home, alongside visiting clients at home. Free parking on site and electric car charging points.
Hours: Working hours typically Monday to Friday 9-5.

Responsibilities:

Doctoral level training in Clinical/Counselling Psychology, with HCPC registration
Experience in, and passion for, working with older people and their families/carers.
Experience in offering a psychological perspective in an MDT setting.
Ability to work with people with complex and comorbid presentations, including cognitive impairment or physical health conditions.
