Qualifications/Skills:

  • Master’s degree in Counselling or Health Psychology, Therapeutic Counselling, Psychotherapy, or Clinical Social Work.
  • Licensed to provide counselling services in Ontario.
  • Minimum of three years post-graduate client/patient-facing clinical experience, including supervised practice.
  • Proven experience in providing one-on-one care and designing/delivering group-based interventions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

Workplace Options is seeking a qualified Clinical Counsellor to join our team. The Clinical Counsellor will play a critical role in supporting the psychological health and resilience of our clients. This role requires a compassionate and experienced mental health professional who can deliver one-on-one and group coaching, develop, and implement site-specific psychological health plans, and facilitate training sessions focused on well-being and resilience. The support will be virtual in nature.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain site-specific psychological health plans. Update these plans annually or as needed to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
  • Offer regular and on-demand one-on-one coaching sessions, prioritizing immediate needs. Utilize various communication methods to provide instant coaching support.
  • Facilitate group coaching sessions tailored to team- specific and gender-specific needs. Ensure sessions are conducted in smaller groups to foster a supportive environment.
  • Develop curriculum for new hire and refresher training on resilience. Deliver well-being and resilience training developed by customer, if required. Ensure all new hires receive well-being and resiliency training before exposure to potentially graphic and objectionable content.
  • Provide appropriate psychological support to personnel affected by their work. Identify the need of and propose rotations or program changes for personnel experiencing significant psychological difficulties, if needed.
  • Conduct resilience and wellbeing surveys periodically and make recommendations based on the results. Create methods to evaluate program success.
  • Maintain and submit monthly reports on psychological health data, coaching hours, service utilization, and other relevant metrics. Review aggregated and anonymized data on resiliency pre-screening and assessment results and recommend corrective actions if needed.
  • Ensure awareness about availability of a 24/7 external EAP service to all personnel.
  • Assist in developing promotion and awareness material for well-being and resilience services and tools.
  • Any additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate by management.
