QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

  • Counsellor with accompanying Master’s degree.
  • Minimum 2 years direct client-contact providing counselling or mental health services (post-qualification).
  • Experience providing assessments and/or using clinical assessment tools.
  • Training in mindfulness or solution-focused counseling an asset.
  • Must be registered with ACA/PACFA (counsellors)
  • Experience using short-term counselling modalities such as Solution-Focused, CBT, Mindfulness, Integrative, Systemic counselling.
  • Training in crisis intervention and supporting high risk clients beneficial.
  • Ability to work with clients presenting with substance abuse, situations of crisis, mental health symptoms and/or family/relationship-related concerns impacting personal or work performance.
  • Passionate about providing support to clients from anywhere in the world.
  • Sensitive to our clients’ culture and flexible in using a telephone interpreter if necessary.
  • Proficient in using our various contact methods - phone, video, email, text and live chat.

Workplace Options has exciting opportunities for EAP Counsellors to join our counselling team in Sydney, Australia.
Our EAP Counsellors engage with participants over the phone, video, chat & email all while demonstrating what we call: The Power of a Good Conversation – creating a connection with the client to ensure they feel heard, supported, and cared for.
It’s difficult to describe an average day for our counsellors, as each caller presents with a unique set of challenges, and it would be from your clinical conversation that would help each person navigate a way forward. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide single session telephonic and video counselling, in-the-moment support and crisis management in a supportive, ethical and professional manner while maintaining client-confidentiality.
  • Assess clients thoroughly to ensure appropriateness for short-term counselling
  • Assess and manage high risk calls and work closely with individuals at risk.
  • Appropriately refer clients to external resources or within WPO as part of our holistic approach.
  • Collaboratively develop clear and concise treatment plans for clients.
  • Maintain clear clinical and task-oriented documentation in case management system.
    The aforementioned duties do not encompass all responsibilities associated with the role. The appointed candidate will be required to undertake additional tasks pertinent to the position, as deemed appropriate and requested by their direct supervisors.
