The Dental & Oral Health Service provides hospital-based oral health and dental services concerned with maintaining or restoring to function, the hard and soft tissues of the mouth and its supporting and associated structures. In particular those areas affected by major trauma, infection, developmental anomalies, pathology, or the underlying medical or psychological status of the person.
The core business of the Service is the provision of quality specialist services, integrated with primary and secondary providers in the communities we serve.

Responsibilities:
Capital and Coast Dental and Oral Health Department have an opportunity for an enthusiastic, qualified Clinical Dental Technician to join our well established, good humoured lab team.
You will be responsible for the delivery of high quality removable plastic prosthetics and occlusal splints for Dental and Oral Health patients in outpatient clinics. In the role you may also be required to provide clinical support, assistance and advice to Dentists.
There may be some flexibility in terms of hours - the exact format of the role can be discussed in the interview.
The following tasks are included in the role:
- Following a treatment plan provided by clinicians
- Working alongside other Clinical Dental Technicians
- Providing appropriate technical advice on prosthetic limitations
- Rehabilitating soft and hard tissues with dentures
- Processing and flasking dentures, trim and polish to finish
- Bite blocks, Wax ups, Try ins
- Repairs/ relines and additions to existing plates
- Fabrication of oral splints
- Designing with clear instructions for laboratory work to be completed
