Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) is looking for a Clinical Education Assistant to join the Regional Orientation team at Vancouver General Hospital. Apply today to join our team!
AS A CLINICAL EDUCATION ASSISTANT WITH VCH, YOU WILL:
- Provide support to Clinical Education programs including VCH Orientation and New Graduate Nurse programs as well as other in-house educational programs and initiatives.
- Respond to questions and/or emails relating to clinical education programs and refers to appropriate team members as required.
- Receive on-line student placement requests and liaises with clinicians and educational institutions regarding placements, acting as a central point of contact for student placements issues and related processes, systems and procedures.
- Perform a variety of clerical duties including typing technical and non-technical material utilizing word processing, spreadsheet and database applications at an intermediate level (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), editing web page content utilizing and manipulating various software applications and maintaining on-line registration system and reference materials.
- Edit online surveys as directed and pulls standard reports from survey software for use by program managers.
- Collaborate with the Regional Manager(s) to plan and support VCH Orientation program which is offered each month at each Community of Care.
- Welcome new employees and introduce the sessions and facilitators, employing customer service skills to foster a positive environment for both new employees and facilitators.
- Engage and participate in quality improvement ideas/initiatives associated with their role.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12, supplemented by a recognized course(s) in administration, plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
- Ability to keyboard at 55 w.p.m.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
