Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AT BAXTER
As a Respiratory Therapist you will be the clinical subject matter expert for the Q-NRG+ Indirect Calorimetry (IC) device, responsible for the successful implementation of the device in hospitals across Canada. Indirect calorimetry (IC) provides objective measurements for clinicians to accurately assess nutritional support through the determination of a patient’s energy expenditure over the course of critical illnesses. The monitoring requires expertise of both respiratory therapists and nutritional support teams.
You will work collaboratively with the Nutrition Sales and Marketing teams in addressing any customer questions or inquiries related to the Q-NRG+. Furthermore, you will provide pre- and post-sale training and education to Dieticians, Respiratory Therapists and Physicians on the use of the Q-NRG+ in a clinical setting for both ventilated and spontaneously breathing individuals. In addition, you will provide objective measurements for clinicians to accurately assess nutritional support through the determination of a patient’s energy expenditure over the course of a critical illness. Lastly, another essential role of the respiratory assist in calibration and troubleshooting the Q-NRG+ equipment as required.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Act as the clinical subject matter expert on the Q-NRG+ Indirect Calorimetry (IC) device and it’s use on patients
- Work collaboratively with the Nutrition Sales Team and customers on performing clinical evaluations of the device at customer sites
- Assist in answering customer inquiries from a clinical perspective
- In collaboration with the sales team, assist with post-sales training at customer sites
- In collaboration with technical services team, assist in calibration and troubleshooting customer issues with the Q-NRG+ device
- Work closely with the sales team through the sales process for Q-NRG+ devices, providing clinical expertise internally and externally as required
- Provide device training to new team members
- Collaborate with the marketing team on strategic objectives, product messaging and training needs
- Complete expense reports, manage internal and external communications
- Gather and document market insights and competitive intelligence
- Help coordinate and represent Baxter at conferences specified by Marketing & Sales Management
- Responsible for self-directed maintenance of product and therapy expertise
