Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Facilitator within the Training and Development team to support the training and development of all staff, Student Nursing Associates and Apprentice Operating Department Practitioners working in theatres. The role will facilitate the implementation of evidence-based practice by supporting staff & students in their clinical practice thereby contributing to the continual development of a quality service ensuring best practice is followed resulting in optimum patient care.

  • Work in partnership with nursing & AHP teams
  • Advise and support new and existing staff in the supervision and assessment of students
  • Maintain internal and external networks to facilitate learning
  • Use of communication and interpersonal skills when working with diverse settings in health and social care whilst supporting students in practice
  • Provide feedback to practice areas regarding student evaluation of the placement and ensure that relevant actions planned are developed as appropriate

Responsibilities:

Acting as a clinical role model and promoting a culture where staff are valued, supported and able to deliver a high-quality care service
Maintaining a current/up to date knowledge of best practice to improve service provision
Ensuring evidence-based practice is sourced, developed, implemented and audited to improve patient care
Supporting the delivery of mandatory training for theatre staff through a variety of resources
Acting as a point of Contact for Student Nursing Associates/Operating Department Practitioner Apprentices, Allocations, Induction process, Pastoral Support, Facilitation of AIP meetings (University academic in practice
Supporting at Coventry University for Student Nursing Associates assessments, interviews, development meetings & ad-hoc practical sessions
Delivering/providing training sessions, opportunities and Audit Day training sessions for student nursing associates whilst on placement
Assisting with the organisation and running of Theatre department Audit Days
Participation in open days at UHCW, Careers Fairs at Coventry University
Cascade trainer for a minimum of 2 Mandatory training subjects
Working in clinical practice one day per week
