Description:

This post is designed for a Higher Specialist Trainee (or equivalent) in Emergency Medicine to: Learn about musculoskeletal medicine and apply it to their practice within the ED. Shadow a doctor working within a sporting environment and gain experience of immediate care at sporting events Allow time to gain qualifications in Sports Medicine and Immediate Care in Spor Applications from post-CCT trainees will also be considered. The job will allow the successful candidate to undertake focussed training in MSK Medicine and Sports Medicine. The successful candidate will contribute to the Emergency Department middle-grade rota for 50% of their contracted time.
The other 50% of the time will be spent in MSK clinics within the BRI and in various sporting environments. The trainee will be supported and encouraged to gain a recognised post-graduate Sports Medicine qualification. The trainee will also be expected to attend a sports-related pre-hospital immediate care course during the year. The successful applicants main role in the Emergency Department is to provide clinical work at the middle grade level and to continuously supervise members of the junior medical staff (as outlined in the job plan)
