Clinical Fellow in General Surgery

Main aspects of the role will include but are not limited to ( see Job description and person spec for more information): Assisting in theatre Contributing to the acute surgical take Supporting foundation year doctors Core Surgical Trainee level position. Duties include working on a 1 in 8 on call rota with a combination of CST doctors and FY2 level doctors. On call cover includes taking and triaging referrals from GPs and ED for General Surgery, Urology, and Vascular Surgery. Assisting in acute theatres, clerking new surgical admissions, and providing supervision for the Foundation Year 1 doctors.
Standard day duties involve attending elective and CEPOD theatres in General Surgery. Outpatient clinic attendance is also encouraged. Ward based supervision for the FY1s is essential. Educational/Clinical supervision will be provided by a Consultant Surgeon.
