Description:

Applications are invited for the innovative post of Clinical Fellow in the Marie Curie Responsive Emergency Assessment and Community Team (REACT) in Bradford. This is a fixed term post until the end of the project in May 2025 (long term funding is being sort). Applicants must have full registration with the GMC.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an OOPT for a Higher Specialist Trainee in Medical Specialities or those post MRCP. Applications from post CCT trainees will also be considered. The Clinical Fellow will work for Marie Curie REACT reviewing patients in the Emergency Department and in the Community. This innovative, fixed term post is designed for a Higher Specialist Trainee (or equivalent) in Internal Medicine/Acute Medicine or an existing Palliative Medicine Trainee to:
Develop their skills in the holistic assessment of patients
Gain experience in service development, audit and quality improvement.
Gain a qualification in Palliative Medicine or Medical Education subject to approval.
Applications from post CCT trainees will also be considered. The successful candidate will work for Marie Curie REACT reviewing patients in the Emergency Department and the community.
The postholder’s role will involve working closely with medical and nursing colleagues within Palliative and Emergency Medicine to identify and support patients presenting to ED with unmet palliative care needs as well as reviewing patients in the community as part of the REACT virtual ward. The community virtual ward will involve working closely with Clinical Nurse Specialists, Specialty Doctors and Health Care Assistants.
The postholder will be encouraged to take an active role in audit and service development where there will be opportunities to present this work both locally and regionally. Depending on skills there may be opportunities to be involved in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and the education of allied health professionals.
The candidate will be expected to help deliver Medical Education within Emergency Medicine and Marie Curie REACT.
