Job Summary :
Medpace is growing rapidly, and we are currently seeking a Senior Medpace Reference Lab Consultant (Clinical Governance Officer/ Pathologist) to join us. This will be an independent contractor role for an agreed consulting hours of 8 -10 hours per month; and on a 1 year renewable basis.

Responsibilities :

  • Advises on or recommend solutions utilizing knowledge of theory, principles, or technology of specific discipline or field of specialization;
  • Coordinates resolution of issues with laboratory employees;Acts as business development associate (respond to request for proposals, negotiate prices, and facilitate contracts and task orders);
  • Acts as technical and procedural resource for laboratory and Project Management;
  • Collaborates with MRL staff to achieve departmental objective and develop processes for operational success;
  • Acts as technical and procedural resource for sponsors; and
  • Acts as marketing associate and represents Medpace Research Laboratories at conference exhibits.

Clinical Governance Officer Essential Functions

  • To provide clinical governance and technical oversight over the licensable healthcare service or specified service, as the case may be;
  • To assist the licensee in the day to day management of the clinical and technical aspects of the licensable healthcare service or specified service, as the case may be;
  • To ensure the implementation and regular review of policies and systems for clinical governance, clinical risk management, effective quality management systems and any other clinical and technical related matters for the licensable healthcare service or specified service (as the case may be), so as to detect and address in a timely manner any risks affecting the safety and welfare of, or the continuity of care provided to, patients;
  • To ensure that any weakness or inadequacy related to any clinical or technical aspect of the licensable healthcare service or specified service (as the case may be) is promptly identified and remedied, including informing the licensee of the weakness or inadequacy, and proposing and implementing measures to prevent the recurrence of the weakness or inadequacy;
  • To ensure that the licensee’s personnel involved in the clinical or technical aspects of the licensable healthcare service or specified service (as the case may be) comply with the appropriate policies and processes concerning clinical and technical standards;
  • To ensure that there is close supervision, adequate training and regular competency assessments of the licensee’s personnel involved in the clinical or technical aspects of the licensable healthcare service or specified service (as the case may be), to enable them to perform their work effectively and safely; and
  • To immediately notify the licensee of any matter within the Clinical Governance Officer’s purview that may affect compliance with any license condition applicable to the licensable healthcare service or specified service, as the case may be.

Qualifications :

  • Doctor of Medicine or MD required;
  • Minimum 5 years of histo-pathology experience in clinical laboratory setting;
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Extensive Knowledge of federal regulations regarding clinical studies and conduct of such studies; and
  • Ability to quickly develop familiarity with all relevant Medpace Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
