The post holder will work with a multidisciplinary team and be a part of the Quality and Governance Team contributing to the service county-wide, spanning over 2 acute sites. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Clinical Governance whilst also providing day to day leadership and motivation to the team.
The post holder will work with the senior management team to develop an environment and culture that improves quality, health, safety and security. Working in partnership with the clinical leads to review and develop changes surrounding patient experience.
Participate in 24/7 cover, cross site

The post holder will input into the Quality and Governance programme within the department, and actively contribute to the delivery of an efficient, effective and safe service.
The post holder will be responsible for actively contributing to the delivery of an efficient and effective Radiology service by providing leadership, supervision and the clinical guidance.
The post holder must adhere to the Health and Care Professions Council and the Society of Radiographers Code of Professional Conduct, and be actively involved in continued professional development.
The Radiology Directorate at GHNHSFT manages services across 10 sites in Gloucestershire including 2 large District General Hospitals. We are the second largest directorate in the South West of England offering a broad range of sub-specialty work including adult and paediatric radiography including trauma and orthopaedic examinations, mobile imaging, general radiography, cardiac and interventional procedures, digital fluoroscopy, CT scanning, MRI and Ultrasound.

Support the Quality & Governance Lead in the Service’s quality control programme, with reference to Radiology equipment, training staff to perform the tests, ensuring the tests are performed on schedule and that problems are identified and acted upon.
To contribute towards ensuring current legislation, including radiation safety policies such as IR(ME)R & IRR, Health and Safety policies, COSHH regulations and manual handling policies, are followed in department. The post holder will become an RPS and manage departmental dose monitoring.
To monitor incidents and risks, looking for trends, and investigate as required.
To produce departmental risk assessments as required.
To have oversight over all Clinical Governance documentation, monitoring expiry dates and actioning where necessary whilst ensuring all protocols and policies used within the speciality area are in line with national and Trust guidelines.
Able to conduct a range of examinations within the clinical speciality upon a range of patient types, both as an autonomous practitioner and as part of multidisciplinary team(s), in a manner that meets professional, departmental and legal standards and requirements. Using clinical information available ensure that the appropriate radiology technique is performed in accordance with best practice and that the images are diagnostic.
Suggest referrals to other clinical teams according to departmental protocols and best practice in order to ensure appropriate ongoing treatment.
Input into ongoing analysis and development of the service.
Take part in the provision of a 24-hours service.
Provide continuous professional leadership, supervision and practical assistance to a multi-disciplinary team of reception staff, assistant technical officers, radiographer practitioners, advanced practitioners, student radiographers and trainee assistant practitioners whilst ensuring development of services.
Available as a source of advice, professional leadership and practical assistance and be able to cope with multiple demands during the day. Effective multitasking.
