The Faculty of Health provides high quality, innovative programs of teaching and learning, research and consulting and continuing professional education to clients of wide backgrounds, both nationally and internationally in a spectrum of disciplines. The Faculty of Health has a well-resourced suite of 17 Clinical Health Simulation Laboratories (Simulation Laboratories) and is leading the way in Higher Education nursing and midwifery teaching and learning by incorporating immersive simulation strategies across undergraduate and postgraduate curricula.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Clinical Health Simulation Officer is a professional staff member at UTS responsible for the coordination, preparation, and maintenance of the specialized learning spaces within the Clinical Health Simulation Laboratories. The incumbent will combine clinical knowledge and skill with simulation expertise to support to the Faculty of Health academic staff who are coordinating nursing, midwifery and allied health clinical subjects. The role will promote and empower the integration of emerging simulation equipment and technology into a variety of Health Curricula.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Act as an expert resource to guide academic teams in the utilization of simulation hospital equipment, high-fidelity patient simulator manikins for clinical skills training
- Utilize clinical nursing knowledge and simulation expertise to interpret the teaching and learning goals outlined in the lab requirements
- Cultivate strong working relationships with Clinical Health Simulation Technicians, academic subject coordinators, and faculty support staff to ensure the seamless coordination and execution of clinical subjects
- Abide by the UTS Work, Health & Safety guidelines, and utilize incident-reporting systems to maintain and improve the safety of staff and students within the Simulation Laboratories

- Advanced communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with a variety of different teams in a professional manner to achieve common goals
- Demonstrated ability to be self-motivated, take initiative and work autonomously within the context of a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to be innovative in designing and developing simple to complex clinical solutions within a ‘mock’ hospital environment
- Well-developed time management, organisational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills
