Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced neonatal physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary paediatric therapy team at King’s.
At Denmark Hill we have a 36 bedded, busy, Level 3 NICU with surgical, gastro, neurosurgical and respiratory specialities as well as extreme prematurity. On the Princess Royal site there is a developing 16 bedded Level 2 Unit. You will be working in regular outpatient clinics run at both sites.
We are looking for a highly specialist, motivated and enthusiastic physiotherapist, to lead the physiotherapy inpatient and outpatient neonatal service cross-site and join our well established team.
Applicants should have HCPC registration and be able to demonstrate wide experience in working with children and neonates as well as leadership and management skills. The post will involve supervision and teaching of staff. The ability to organise self and team and to work in a busy environment across different sites is essential.
To be a physiotherapy clinical expert in the management of neonatal patients and neurodevelopment for inpatient and outpatients services on both sites.
To work with the neonatologists and neonatal therapy team to ensure a high quality, effective and efficient service to infants presenting with neurological, neurodevelopmental, respiratory, musculoskeletal and orthopaedic needs.
To ensure all infants receive developmental care as part of their neonatal pathway, and implement FIC principles.
To work with the MDT to develop and co-ordinate early intervention service for high risk infants.
To provide supervision and clinical support to the inpatient neonatal physiotherapy team and students to meet individual and service needs.
To be responsible for clinical leadership and service development within the Paediatric Physiotherapy service at Kings College Hospital
To use expert Physiotherapy knowledge and advanced clinical reasoning skills to provide highly specialist support and advice to the paediatric physiotherapy team, neonatal consultants, paediatricians, and other medical staff, and to manage own caseload of patients with highly complex conditions as an autonomous practitioner.
