Responsibilities:
An exciting opportunity has become available to join the Horowhenua Community Practice as a member of the Practice Leadership team. Reporting to the Practice Manager you will work collaboratively with the GP team and the Patient Services team.
You will have the opportunity to lead a skilled, professional and committed team of nurses, and practice assistants with a whanau-centric approach to healthcare. You will be responsible for coordinating nursing services in the provision of a range of primary health care, resulting in a high quality of care through best practice.
This position has overall responsibility for the day to day management of the nursing team and strongly influences the quality of clinical services in the Practice. This position will champion whanau needs and provide timely clinical and culturally appropriate health services while also developing clinical protocols in conjunction with the medical team.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing exemplary clinical leadership
- Maintaining a positive, caring patient centric environment and facility
- Providing strong leadership with a “hands on approach” to the nursing team
- Leading a positive, cohesive, adaptable, and enthusiastic team
- Achieving Horowhenua Community Practice compliance and contractual targets as part of a multidisciplinary team
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of five years’ experience with demonstrated skills in a Nursing Leadership position in the Health Sector and a Registered Nurse
- An appropriate post-graduate qualification
- A current NZ Practising Certificate as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing Council of NZ.
- An understanding of primary health care clinical programmes
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience working with complex health needs
