Description:

Eligible Health Workers who move to Queensland from interstate and international jurisdictions to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 in incentive payments under the Queensland Health Attraction Incentive Scheme

Role requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable:
  • Credentialed status (or willingness to undertake and complete the requirements) with the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses.
  • Possession of or working towards a relevant post-registration and/or tertiary qualifications in mental health nursing would be well regarded
  • While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded.
  • Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services (MHSG) to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the applicant to have a C Class motor vehicle licence.
  • All employees of the MHSG may be required to work in other areas of the Service.

Generous remuneration package value up to $132,289 p.a.comprising:

  • Salary rates between $4138.10 - $4431.10 p.f. (NG6-1)
  • Annual leave loading + leave
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution

The ideal applicant will be someone who has proven ability and can demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with the multidisciplinary team, patients and other stakeholders, including participation in relevant networks.
  • High standard of written and oral communication skills within the multidisciplinary team, patients and their families.
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of working with individual consumers with complex case mix.
  • Demonstrated ability to participate in a multidisciplinary team under clinical practice supervision or more senior practitioners.
  • Demonstrated sound interpersonal skills and ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with a wide range of individuals and diverse populations, families, communities, collaborative partners and other service providers.
  • Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide clinical education and guidance to less experienced staff members and education to students and other key stakeholders
  • Demonstrate the ability to take an ethical approach to the assessment, treatment and care of persons of high risk with due regard to risk management, community safety, dignity and consumer rights.
  • Demonstrated ability of cultural considerations that may be required when working with consumers/ families or communities who identify as Aboriginal and/ or Torres strait islander.
