KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • NZ Registered Nurse with a current Practicing Certificate
  • Working towards Designated Senior Nurse PDRP or Expert PDRP
  • Relevant Post graduate tertiary qualification or working towards
  • Certificate in Adult/Clinical Teaching
    Applicants with experience in a related specialty; have a Master’s degree, Designated Nurse Prescriber qualification or who are working towards either of these qualifications will be desired.

Responsibilities:

Achieving the best health outcomes for our patients starts with expecting the best from ourselves, and right now Health NZ – Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau is looking for a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide a specialist nursing contribution to the care of patients referred to the Medical Outreach Service based within Whangarei Hospital.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist role is an advanced nursing practice role with a primary focus on respiratory and home oxygen clients; working within a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist outreach case management, assessment, education and advice for clients with chronic and complex long term health issues to maintain optimal health and wellbeing, in liaison with Primary and Secondary Services.
This is a fixed term role ending 9 February 2025, working 24 hours per week, covering Monday to Saturday.
