Description:

We are looking for a Band 7 Clinical/ C ounselling Psychologist to join Reading CAMHS , which is part of the wider West S pecialist C ommunity Teams (SCT) which cover Woking ham , Reading and Newbury. This post is based at Erlegh House, University of Reading .
Our SCT Teams are multi- di sciplinary teams that deliver treatments to young people in the Reading area who are living with more complex, severe, and enduring mental health problems. As a result, you will find yourself working jointly with other professions such as Children’s S ocial C are.
We are keen for clinicians newly qualifying to apply for this post. The ideal clinician will be thoughtful and reflective, and someone who is a team player . We are an experienced team and as a S ervice we are able to provide a supportive structure and regular supervision to newly qualifie d members of the team.
The Reading team is warm, compassionate, and welcoming. You will be provided with a supportive introduction, regular supervision and plenty of in-house training opportunities. We also have our free parking on-site. Caseloads are protected and manageable despite a waitlist for treatment.
Staf f wellbeing and development is a priority for the team, alongside clinical and management supervision , there is dedicated time for reflective case discussion and team formulation, wellbeing activities and support.
To complete risk reviews and update safety and care plans for patients and give advice.
P rovide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic interventions to young people and their families, as appropriate .
P rovide care coordination for young people open to the Service.
I ndependently manage an appropriately sized caseload .
U se supervision effectively .
To work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team as well as patients, carers, family members and internal and external agencies
W ork autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise . responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice .
M aintain own continuing professional development and contribute to team professional development initiatives .
To consult with members of the Multi - Disciplinary Team to ensure effective and safe care planning for young people.
To identify and report any safeguarding issues as they may arise.

Responsibilities:

A Clinical registrable qualification i.e. Clinical or Counselling Psychologist.
