Description:

This varied and interesting role will include the provision of individual, group, and systemic interventions. The majority of the role is based within an innovative and well-respected staff psychology service, passionate about delivering impactful intervention to improve the psychological health and wellbeing of NHS staff. In addition, one day per week is included working into our well-established palliative care service.
Due to a combination of career progression and retirement, we have a vacancy for an Applied Psychologist or Psychotherapist to join the Clinical Health Psychology Department at Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. We currently have 36 clinical staff including Clinical and Health Psychologists, Psychotherapists, CBT Therapists and Social Workers, and includes Adult Health, Paediatric Health and Neuropsychology services.
The Staff Psychology Service was commissioned and has expanded following a highly successful pilot of in-reach and therapeutic intervention for staff during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The palliative care service has a long history in Bradford with excellent relationships with the clinical team. We have developed a strong reputation working within the trust and with community services. We have excellent links across the organisation, which support our aim of working collaboratively, compassionately and proactively to improve staff wellbeing at BTHFT and to improve the wellbeing of patients and families in receipt of specialist palliative care.
This position is to provide 0.55 WTE into Staff Psychology, with the support of the Lead Clinical Psychologist. In addition to offering individual psychological therapy, the post holder will have the opportunity to deliver group-based intervention, teaching and training, for example, wellbeing sessions for teams, reflective practice spaces and interventions to teams after highly impactful events. We are therefore looking for an Applied Psychologist or Psychotherapist with an interest, and preferably some experience in, in working therapeutically with trauma, working with groups and an interest in systemic approaches. The two sessions into palliative care will be to provide individual interventions to patients and adult carers.
