Description:

Band 7 - Clinical Pharmacist (Cancer Services)
No previous applicants will be considered for this post.
We are looking for an enthusiastic clinical pharmacist to join our expanding Cancer Services Team to work in close collaboration with the Berkshire Cancer Centre and Clinical Haematology Team to deliver excellent care for our cancer patients.
The successful candidate will have a special interest in Cancer Services. They should demonstrate a combination of clinical and technical skills which will be developed in order that they can deputise for the Accountable Pharmacist and the Clinical Oncology and Haematology Pharmacists within Cancer Services and on in-and outpatient chemotherapy wards. You will be working in partnership with three other Band 7 pharmacists in your role.
We are passionate about nurturing the skills of professionals with limited experience. Therefore, we welcome applications from pharmacists interested in a Band 6 to 7 development role.
You must be a highly motivated pharmacist who is enthusiastic about providing excellent patient-focused care within a multidisciplinary team. You should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and significant experience in hospital pharmacy.
This position will require you to be organised, to develop yourself and the work of your team, and must be able to work accurately under pressure. Having previous experience of caring for people with cancer would be an advantage but is not essential and full training will be offered within our supportive team.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest District General Hospitals in the country. The hospital achieved Foundation Trust status on 1st June 2006. It was the first Foundation Trust in the South Central Strategic Health Authority. The Trust has a successful track record of delivering high quality acute medical and surgical services for 500,000 patients across West Berkshire, an area extending from Newbury in the west to Henley-on-Thames in the east, and including Wokingham and parts of Hampshire to the south and parts of Oxfordshire to the north.
