Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 6 Clinical Physiologist on the Sir Jules Thorn Telemetry Unit at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. As a Clinical Physiologist you will be responsible for providing high quality Video-EEG Telemetry studies for service users within the Epilepsy surgery program and neurological sleep services.
Our telemetry team provide the full range of video EEG services including:
Diagnostic studies
Pre-surgical studies including ictal SPECT
Invasive studies (with subdural and depth (SEEG) electrodes)
Physiologist led Electrocorticography
Polysomnography, MSLT and Actigraphy
At Home polysomnography and diagnostic video EEG telemetry
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and engaging individual with experience within the field of Clinical Neurophysiology.

Responsibilities:

Provide a highly complex, specialist Clinical Neurophysiology service.
Undertake interpretation of results and provision of written factual reports, communicating directly with consultant staff regarding any findings.
Present the findings of the video telemetry studies at the weekly multidisciplinary meeting, and contribute to ward rounds and teaching sessions held on the unit on a regular basis.
Provide assistance with and actively participate in research projects carried out on the telemetry unit.
Education and training of techniques to new members of staff and demonstration of the telemetry unit activity to professional visitors.
Participate in quality assurance and audit within the department and on a regional basis.
