Description:
Act as a role model, demonstrating high standards of care and providing clinical leadership in the care of patients Work with staff to ensure the embedding of excellent standards of practice and clinical competence Develop and maintain effective working relationships between clinicians, practitioners and managers across the organisation Take responsibility for assessing and recognising issues in practice which need immediate escalation and takes appropriate action. Support the delivery and evaluation of training programmes for clinical staff to expand their clinical skills Establish and maintain an active learning environment in all clinical areas Assist in educational audits as required Support practice education and development initiatives across the Trust Attend key groups around training and education both internally and externally and provide feedback. Provide professional leadership and support to nurses, midwives and AHPs Demonstrate clear leadership skills and act as an effective role model, a resource and facilitator Provide feedback as and when necessary to encourage new ideas which can contribute to the development of the service Maintain and support systems for monitoring, reviewing and reporting on the quality of education programmes being delivered. Regularly participate in the review and update of education programmes responding to the staff evaluation Work within Trust and departmental policies and procedures, ensuring that all staff do the same Work with Ward Managers and Preceptors to ensure that all staff undertaking the preceptorship programme fulfil the requirements of the programme Participate in the facilitation of education sessions and study days Continually maintains CPD requirements for NMC revalidation and identifies own learning needs to maintain professional standards and personal development Keep up to date with professional issues in healthcare practice, research and policy initiatives.
Utilise reflection and feedback to identify a Personal Development Plan that addresses the requirements of the post. Maintain standards of conduct to sustain public confidence in accordance with NMC directives and Medway NHS Foundation Trust values. Be accountable for own practice. Act in a professional manner towards the patients, their families/carers, relatives, visitors and all members of the multi-disciplinary team Represent the Trust at local, regional and national forums/networks to identify and share best practice Demonstrate a personal commitment to attaining educational, research and clinical skills and to sharing expertise and experience with colleagues both within the team and from other clinical areas.
Participate in the Trusts personal development/appraisal system. Participate in clinical supervision/reflective practice, working within the Trusts systems and professional guideline
