TE WHIWHINGA MAHI | THE OPPORTUNITY

Tū Māia Youth Forensic Service is a regionally focused, multi-disciplinary team, whose primary role is the assessment of children and adolescents involved in the Youth Justice system. This role will include preparing formal reports on their mental health needs for the Courts and other agencies, and providing short term therapies and consultation to a small number of young people. We also provide clinical services to young people in secure residential care, and Court liaison services.
Tū Māia was suitably named, as the rangatahi and whānau using the service are predominantly Māori and are thought to be brave and courageous, engaging in the court ordered comprehensive assessment processes whereby highly personal information is sought and shared after a very short period of engagement with the clinicians and cultural advisors.
Due to increased demand and growth of the service, we are looking for neuropsychologists to join our team. It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Psychologist.
For further details, please refer to the position description here.
